Meet Max McCall
One scene, a thousand stories
Maximilian McCall known as Max McCall is a British Director, born in 1998 in London, UK.
His passion and journey started during his school years. He found solace and excitement in two subjects: Photography and Filmmaking. It was through the lens of a camera and the magic of cinema that he realized his calling lay within the film industry, that call motivated him to study BA in Film and Television Production at Buckinghamshire New University where he developed knowledge of Film, Television, Advertisement, and Music videos. That fire he had inside led him to pursue an MA (Filmmaking) in Directing at Met Film School in London, UK.
It was here that he unearthed his affinity for pushing the boundaries of traditional scene design, fuelled by his innate creativity and penchant for thinking outside the box. The use of subtext and Mise-en-scène helps him create his style of films, as can be seen in A Last Stand, Hells Gate, You Told Me, Green Hub, and Side Ally.
It was during this transformative period that he had the fortune of crossing paths with a talented team of collaborators who shared his vision and helped bring his cinematic visions to life.
Currently, he is embarking on his most ambitious venture yet: a groundbreaking science fiction feature film with an Arabic lead, this project represents the culmination of years of dedication, passion, and creative exploration.
In addition to his work on the feature film, Max has been developing multiple short film projects. He recently finished filming the first of these in September 2024, working in collaboration with MIND UK. This project is now entering post-production. While that film progresses, he is already working on a second short that is much closer to his heart. The story draws on his personal experiences working with mentally disabled adults in a care home, a role he held for nearly four years. This project will also mark the first release under his new production company, which he is forming with a group of collaborators he has worked with in the past.
He strives to leave an indelible mark on the industry while continuing to evolve as a filmmaker and storyteller.
